Information Collection and Privacy Protection
HealthySA makes every effort to
adhere to guidelines developed by the Australian Privacy Commissioner for
Government web sites (Guidelines
for Federal and ACT Government World Wide Websites). In particular we make
every effort to comply with Information Privacy Principles (see Glossary 1 to 3
and 10 and 11 of the Privacy Act (a copy of the Act is available at SCALEplus,
the legal information retrieval system owned by the Australian Attorney
General's Department).
What
information do we collect
HealthySA is a
cookie-free site. HealthySA does not collect information that can identify
individuals who visit the site. However, when you visit this site, we compile
data that records and logs your visit with the following information collected
strictly for statistical purposes only:
- the user's server address
- the date and time of the visit to the site
- the pages accessed and documents downloaded
- the search words used
- the previous site visited
- the type of browser used
This information is analysed at the end of each month to determine the site’s usage statistics.
No attempt will be made to identify users or their browsing activities.
HealthySA - Contact us
HealthySA retains the e-mail address of people
who send e-mails through 'Contact us' for the purpose of sending a response.
They are stored in a secure area within the South Australian Government’s
Message Services System.
The information will only be used for the purpose for
which you have provided it. However, you should be aware that the email might be
forwarded to another person within the Department of Health (DH) or a DH funded
service provider for a direct, accurate and efficient response.
Your email address will not be added to any mailing lists
without your permission.
Submitting websites and pages
People who submit web sites or pages for inclusion
on HealthySA have the option to provide personal details such as name and e-mail
address. These details will be used for the sole purpose of advising the person
of the approval status of their submission. This is optional.

Security and information privacy
Every effort has been made to ensure the
security of information submitted to HealthySA via its submission facilities.
However, this can not be guaranteed.
No personal information will be published on this site.
The Department of Health and its staff are
subject to the department's Code of Fair Information and are bound to
confidentiality and Freedom of Information (FOI) requirements. Any FOI
enquiries should be directed to the relevant Department of Health
agency.
Special note
Please note that HealthySA contains links to
a large number of web sites (Department of Health, South Australian,
Australian and World) that are included on the basis of containing content
related to health and wellbeing issues. When you click on a link to another
site, you leave the HealthySA site and are no longer protected by HealthySA
Privacy conditions.
This privacy statement is periodically reviewed in line
with the ongoing development of the HealthySA web site.
