chronic inflammatory disease that primarily affects the small and large
intestines, but can also involve other parts of the digestive system.
The most common symptoms of Crohn's disease include abdominal pain,
diarrhoea, vomitting, fever, weight loss and fatigue.
There are a variety of medications that are used to treat Crohn's
disease but the most commonly used include anti-inflammatory drugs, such
as salicylate preparations (related to asprin) and glucocorticosteroids.
For more severe cases, drugs that suppress the immune system are used or
even surgery.
