TOPIC GUIDES > Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
Chronic fatigue syndrome, also called CFS/ME (chronic fatigue syndrome/myalgic
encephalomyelitis) is an illness characterised by extreme exhaustion. It
can strike at any age and can affect children as well as adults.
Victoria alone could have at least 34,000 people who suffer from CFS/ME.
The cause is unknown and recovery can take years. Some people don't
recover at all and some suffer relapses for the rest of their lives.
