TOPIC GUIDES  > Cataracts

A cataract is a common eye disorder where a person has a clouding of the lens of the eye that causes blurry, hazy or distorted vision.  It is more common to the elderly and if untreated can cause a permanently blurred vision.

It is important to wear sunglasses that provide UV protection against harmful rays.  There are a number of treatments to help rectify the problem including new glasses, stronger lighting and other visual aids.  However if these techniques do not help then often surgery is the solution.
