Acne is a result of over activity of oil glands at the base of hair follicles.  This causes the hair follicles to become plugged resulting in acne.  It is a common skin disorder that occurs primarily in late teens and early twenties.  Aggravation of acne can be caused by heredity, diet, hygiene, stress and general illness.
